Skein

Skein is a new work by James Steventon, commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art, for JUST LIKE THIS, the latest iteration of their annual online project inviting artists to create new work that opens up artistic dialogue between artists and participants through a series of online instructions, which could be used as a basis for creating new work.

100-Up

The “Hundred Up” is an exercise invented by WG George, the fastest miler of 19th century, which consists of a drill to perfect running form.

One Metre Measured

A presentation and discussion of our latest research, exploring the potential offered by an initial measurement of one metre of place and/or material.

Reciprocity

A one-day seminar with presentations by research students from the Royal College of Art, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, including a guest presentation by James Steventon.

Buckskin Running Moccasins

Based on a fusion of contemporary minimalist shoes and traditional Native American Indian designs, the lacing system utilises naturally occurring holes in the deer hide, thought to be from puncture wounds from rival deer antler.

One Hour

A project curated by Graham Keddie with project support from Rosalind Stoddart.
